Host SSH connection fails

Symptom

The host SSH connection fails with a This key is not known by any other names error.

Cause

The host was reinstalled or its SSH key was regenerated, causing the key to change.

Solution

Open the /root/.ssh/known_hosts file, locate the entry for the affected host, and delete it. The SSH connection then succeeds.
