The virtual machine cannot boot into the system after a restart. What should I do?
ZSvirt was open-sourced from the ZStack ZSphere commercial project and has since developed independently. Some code, configuration, and documentation still retain historical ZStack/ZSphere names (such as environment variables, configuration items, dependencies, paths, and commands). These names are for compatibility only and do not affect the normal use of ZSvirt.
Symptom
The virtual machine cannot boot normally and displays a Give root password for maintenance prompt.
Cause
The virtual machine fstab is configured for automatic disk mounting, but the disk device name has changed, preventing the virtual machine from mounting automatically.
Solution
-
Run the following commands in the virtual machine to mount the disk:
# Get disk UUID [root@localhost ~]# ll /dev/disk/by-uuid/ # Mount the directory [root@localhost ~]# mount /dev/disk/by-uuid/$disk_UUID /zstack_ps # Configure automatic mounting using disk UUID [root@localhost ~]# vi /etc/fstab
